Last week and weekend review

Last week started quite normally. An other grammar lesson with our head-teacher Jennifer, I think it was hilarious as usual. :-)

This day has also been the day when we have decided to speak much more in English during our free time! Maybe quite a bit late, but better "late" than never.

Tuesday was a mosttly successful day. Of course the school but rather more the time after. We had done a training session. While Daniel started his workout in the GYM I was running for approximately 30' outside along the coast. It was wunderful! Then I joined him in the GYM.

After that we went to the park in front of the ocean. Before, we had bought a coffee in Star Bucks. We spent some time talking and waiting for the sunset. It was like a picture. Beautifu! And when three army helicopters were flying into the sunset, it seemed like a Hollywood movie.

But this was not the end of an exciting day! On our way back home we stopped at a gas station, because the tank was nearly empty. I drove up to a gas pump, but unfortunately the fuel door of the car was on the other side. My brother sat back into the car and moved quickly forward for a turn. Suddenly he crashed into a sidewalk which he didn't see! But don't worry! Daniel's first education had been as a car mechanic. He quickly changed the wheel and we set off home.

The rest of the week flew by...

Weekend
The weekend started great! My girlfriend arrived in San Diego and I picked her up at the airport.

On the following day we spent the time kind of sightseeing. First we drove to La Jolla Downtown, got some coffee, strolled through the park and watched the seals. Then we moved on to Coronado Island at the beach. It's an awesome beach but we arrived a bit late so it wasn't too warm. We left, drove back, changed our clothes for dinner.

Sunday was a powerful day. Daniel and I rented a Jet-Ski for a hour. Therefore, we had driven to Mission Bay. After a short briefing, we started our ride. In the fullspeed area both of us felt the power from this motorvehicle. One time Dani was handling the Jet-Ski I was sitting behind him. Suddenly we were flying through the air and landed in the water. We were looking puzzled but still started laughing.
Topspeed 80km/h! AWESOME!

C ya!

San Diego, USA (4)

One week more is over now! It was the fourth week in San Diego and also a short one, after three days off!

Last Saturday, the most important Ironman event of the year has taken place. It was time for the World Championship on Hawaii. I looked the competition on the Internet. But not during the whole day, just some parts of the race. It was too sunny outside to spend the full day indoor! ;-)
Fortunately, I didn't sit too long in front of my laptop! Then the Swiss-Guys weren't much successful!!

On Sunday I made an ego trip with the car to the back country. I had to do this trip by myself, because my brother was occupied with study... but it was still a beautiful exploring excursion.

Then the week has started and gone over so fast! Yesterday, Thursday, we had had our first speaking test. The whole writing part followed today! I really don't know if it has gone "good" or terrible. I'm thinking that some parts are not too bad and some things have a lot of potential to improve! :-)
I will see next week...

Now, I'm looking forward to my weekend with hopefully exciting events!

I wish everyone a enjoyable weekend!

Blog entry from Saturday, 10 of Oktober 09

In my last message to you, I have told you about my plans for the last weekend. The two days were mostly decent. I can say, everything went according my plans. In the morning, I cycled. I drove over the street called "Genesee Avenue" towards Torrey Pines along to the street next to the pacific until Solana Beach, then turned back! There is a beautiful view over the water... Meanwhile, I knew all about this route, so I should look for more variety and maybe more challenging tracks!

After that, we went to the Airsho in Miramar. Unfortunately, we missed the ground demonstration with some special forces. Of course not so special like our Swiss Army Grenadiers... So it was quite a bit boring, because we had to wait for a long time before the main-event with the "Blue Angels" started. Their show was amazing! Although, our "Patrouille Suisse" is just as good as the "Blue Angels". Of course!

In the evenig, we went out for dinner to San Diego Down Town. Some of the people there are really crazy! :-)

Sunday was our big shopping day! Las Americas is incredible! I couldn't stop buying! Nike store, O'Neill, Tommy Hilfiger are just a few of the well-known brands available there!

Yes and now the next weekend has already started! I'm looking forward to the Ironman World Championchip on Hawaii!!!

Enjoy your weekend! We have three days off! :-)

San Diego, USA (2)

Hey what's up?

So, I'm used to living in San Diego ;-).

Was geht mit meinem Training?

At the weekend we are going to look the "Marine Coprs Miramar Air Show". That is an aviation expo - featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the Canadian Snowbirds. This we have planed for the morning. After that, I think I will go for a short bikeride! Later in the afternoon we will drive near to the frontier to Mexico. There we will shop in the outlet shoppingcenter "Las Americas". I'm looking forward to arriving there!!

So viel für den Moment!

So long,
Sandro
